about The 2018 Santa Barbara WILD!

The 4th annual Santa Barbara WILD! event, a benefit for Los Padres ForestWatch, will be held on the historic and beautiful campus of The Garden Street Academy. This spectacular landmark location was originally part of the Santa Barbara Mission.

Join us as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the San Rafael Wilderness while raising funds that will allow us to continue our work protecting wildlife, wilderness, and waterways in your local backcountry.

Guests will be provided with locally sourced organic appetizers and dinner, local handcrafted wines and beer, live music with Spanish/Flamenco guitarist Chris Fossek, silent and live auctions, a live raffle, and an afternoon of fun, community, and friendship.

A green event

We are proud to offer a sustainably-produced event with recycling and composting provided by GreenProject Consultants. All event materials are printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper whenever possible to protect the environment.

Live music

by Chris fossek

Santa Barbara’s CAMINO CIELO is one of the most scenic and beautiful roads in all of the country, with sky and ocean views as far as the eye can see. Chris Fossek has chosen to use the name as a fitting title for his debut album of Spanish and gypsy-style guitar, lending a flavor of early musical sounds that may have been heard in Santa Barbara and the surrounding Los Padres mountains.

Chris Fossek has performed as a soloist and in ensembles in such venues as the Olympic Stadium of Rome, the Getty Museum and RedCat Theater in Los Angeles, and The Granada Theatre, The Lobero Theatre, and The New Vic Theater in Santa Barbara. He is a Top-Ten Billboard charting recording artist and composer who holds a Master’s degree in guitar performance from the California Institute of the Arts, where he was greatly inspired by his mentor, world-renowned guitarist, improvisor, and composer, Miroslav Tadic.

Born in Santa Barbara, California, and raised studying classical piano music, Chris Fossek has also lived for years in Italy, where he studied piano with Stefania Bellodi in Modena, and attended the faculty of DAMS at the University of Bologna. He has lived in Spain and Germany, and has traveled extensively throughout the "Greater Mediterranean" in such countries as Portugal, France, Slovenia, Croatia, and Turkey. His compositions are a unique blend of classical music, flamenco, eastern European folk music, and rock n' roll!
